Zack Snyder’s zombie motion picture, Army of the Dead, has become a hit with subscribers, and fans are eager to see what the director has in store next. Now, we have an idea, and with some exciting news recently announced, the anticipation for the upcoming Netflix original anime Twilight of the Gods has reached an all-time high.
The project was initially announced back in July 2019, and since then, little has been released regarding what fans can expect from Twilight of the Gods. But now that the prolific filmmaker has completed many of his other big-name endeavors like the long-awaited Zack Snyder’s Justice League and the recently released Netflix original Army of the Dead, it seems the streaming service is ready to get this endeavor on its streaming service for subscribers to enjoy.
Snyder is teaming up with longtime creative partner, Jay Oliva, for the series, who fans will recognize from his work directing some of the best DC animated films out there, including Batman Vs. Robin, Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox and Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 1 & 2. The two have worked together on several projects, including 300: Rise of an Empire, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Man of Steel.
Their collaboration for the streaming network will result in an anime series portraying the filmmaker’s vision of Norse Mythology. It will be interesting to see how Twilight of the Gods turns out, and it’s no surprise that Snyder fans everywhere need to more about this Netflix original series right now!
Twilight of the Gods release date
No release date or timetable has been officially announced by Netflix for Twilight of the Gods. It may be some time before fans figure out when to make the calendars in anticipation of the Norse mythology anime to premiere.
At this point, it’s looking like Twilight of the Gods will be released on Netflix in 2022. We’ll let you know more when we find out.
Twilight of the Gods cast
Netflix’s Geeked Week event unveiled plenty of exciting announcements regarding upcoming titles, and Twilight of the Gods was on the list with some stellar revelations.
The cast was officially announced during the digital event.
Sylvia Hoeks plays Sigrid, Stuart Martin takes on the role of Leif, Game of Thrones star Pilou Asbæk portrays Thor, John Noble is Odin, Paterson Joseph is the god of mischief Loki, Rahul Kohli takes on the part of Egill, Jamie Clayton will become The Seid-Kona, and Kristopher Hivju is going to play Andvari.
Also on the roster will be American Gods star Peter Stormare as Ulfr, Lovecraft County’s Jamie Chung will be taking on the role of Hel, The Walking Dead’s Lauren Cohan is going to be playing Inge, and Corey Stoll will be playing Hrafnkel in Twilight Gods of War.
Twilight of the Gods synopsis
An official synopsis has not been released by Netflix for Twilight of the Gods, and plot details are scarce right now regarding what will go down when the anime series arrives. Snyder has confirmed that the original series will be based on his take of Norse mythology.
It’s safe to assume his vision will somewhat resemble his past work in terms of style, aesthetics, and storytelling.
